Hand-made Fair Trade in Indonesia
Cast and hand-polished white bronze
The Alpaca Shawl Stick was inspired by a trip to Peru in 2013, which included forays to Macchu Pichu, and the ancient city of Cuzco, the colonial city of Arequipa where I met several Alpacas. But rather than being based on these living animals, the Alpaca Shawl Stick is based on a tiny ancient gold figure of an Alpaca, a ritual item perhaps, that indicated the value of the Alpaca and other Guanacos within Incan life.
