Today kicks off the next Knit Purl Hunter mystery knit along! Wandering Moon is a crescent shaped shawl using Rylie that I've been chomping at the bit to start. Rylie is seriously scrumptious to knit with.
I decided to live life on the edge for this project and not do my gauge swatch (gasp!). But I have knit Michelle's patterns before, and I've knit with yarn before so I felt comfortable making assumptions. Though if you haven't used Rylie before, it would be a good idea to swatch.
In part one she is instructing us to start at the bottom edge of the shawl, working on forming a pretty scalloped cabled border. The directions are given both written and charted. If you've never worked from a chart before now might be an opportune time to start! Just refer to the written instructions if you get confused. Also note that the pattern asks you to place a stitch marker on the last stitch of every 20th row...it sounds like this is an important step, so don't forget!
Here is my border two chart repeats in:
I've done knit on borders after the rest of the shawl was completed, but never started here! I'm excited to see how this turns out!
Rylie is still on sale at YarnScout for just $22 if you haven't gotten your yarn yet! Hurry though, tomorrow is the last day!
Come by the store anytime for help or just to show off your progress! There is also a ravelry group here.
