Free Workshop - Introduction to Brioche Knitting

by Sharyn Anhalt January 12, 2015 1 Comment

Saturday January 17th, 2015, 2pm - seating is limited!

The Brioche stitch can be difficult to learn from a written pattern, but seeing Brioche in action may be all you need to get started. Attend this Free Workshop and learn what you need to get started on a simple two-color Brioche Cowl. We'll be using the Channeled Colors Brioche Loop pattern, free from Skacel Collection, to demonstrate how to knit two color Brioche in the round.

You can choose to attend and watch the demonstration, or knit a bit of homework before the workshop for a practice piece and you'll be ready to start your own Channeled Colors Loop! Or if you're ready to dive in, pick up two hanks of Zitron Unisono and be ready to knit your own Cowl! Stop by the shop before Saturday afternoon and we can get you set up with everything you need. The cowl shown here is knit with Unisono Multi colors 1270 and 1235.

If you'd like to be ready with a practice piece, you will need the following:

Smooth, DK or worsted weight yarn in two contrasting solid colors (no variegated or fuzzy yarns for practice, okay? Let's make it easy to see what you're doing!)

16 inch circular needle, US size 8 or 9

Stitch marker

Your Homework:

Cast on 80 sts with one color of your yarn. Join to work in the round, place marker. Knit 6 rounds. Arrive at YarnScout before 2pm on Saturday ready to Brioche!
